Installing Roadpack

Roadpack is free on the App Store for iPhone on iOS 18 or later and iPad on iPadOS 18 or later. It is available in English, Dutch, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. Most of the app is translated; wording can still vary between screens.

1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Roadpack on the App Store and tap Get.
2. Open Roadpack and start a trip, or join one with the code or link the organizer sent. You can do either as a guest; an account is optional.
3. When asked, allow Location and Notifications. Roadpack shares your location only while a trip is active.

How do I bring my trips to a new phone?

Sign in to Roadpack before switching phones, then use that account on the new device. You can still start or join a trip as a guest, but sign in first if you want to bring your trips with you.

The App Store says Roadpack is not compatible

Your device needs iOS 18 or iPadOS 18 or later. Check under Settings → General → Software Update.

I opened an invite link before installing

An invite link can open the Roadpack App Clip. You can see the Pack, vote, and share location while the clip is open before downloading the full app. Installing Roadpack keeps your trip membership. If the clip is unavailable, install Roadpack and open the invite again, or enter the code in Join a trip.

Common questions

Which tools help the cars stay connected?

CarPlay brings the Pack, quick statuses, and Yes or Skip stop votes to your car's screen. Pack Radio lets passengers hold to talk between cars. Plan it for me drafts stops along the route for the Pack to vote on. An App Clip can open an invite before installation, and Games & playlist adds road bingo, trivia, and a shared playlist link.

I cannot see the Pack Radio talk button

The in-app hold-to-talk button is for passengers during an active trip. Drivers do not get that button. Microphone permission is requested on the first hold. Voice clips can be up to 30 seconds and disappear after a day.

What does Plan it for me include?

Before departure, the organizer chooses interests, pace, daily driving hours, and optional notes. Roadpack drafts stops along the route, including overnight and charging stops. The organizer chooses which stops to propose, and the Pack votes on each one. Every trip gets one free draft plan; Pro adds more. See the trip planner privacy details.

Are fuel planning and follow links free?

Sharing your vehicle's fuel or charge range is free. The fuel and charge stop plan for the whole Pack is Pro. A free follow link shows the destination and approximate arrival for a day, without vehicle positions. Pro extends follow links for the trip, up to seven days.

Can everyone hear the same playlist at the same time?

Roadpack shares a playlist link that each person opens in their music app. It does not synchronise playback between cars. Road bingo and trivia are for passengers while the Pack is driving.

Someone in my trip is not showing up on the map

Their vehicle keeps its last known position and is marked as out of contact when their device stops reporting. Usually this is signal. Ask them to check that Roadpack has Location access set to Always or While Using, that Low Power Mode is off, and that the app has background refresh enabled.

My location is not updating for other people

Open iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Roadpack, and confirm that access is granted and that Precise Location is on. Roadpack cannot place you accurately without it.

I cannot join a trip with my invite code

Codes are case-sensitive and stop working once the trip has ended. Ask the organiser to confirm the trip is still running and to resend the code or the invite link.

The Live Activity disappeared from my Lock Screen

iOS ends Live Activities after a period, and will also end them if the device restarts. Reopening Roadpack while the trip is active restores it. Check that Live Activities are enabled in iOS Settings → Roadpack.

Apple Maps opened without my stop

The handoff builds a multi-stop route from the accepted stop. If Apple Maps cannot route to one of the points — a closed road, or a place it does not recognise — it may drop it. Try proposing the stop again, or search the place directly in Apple Maps.

I want to remove a photo I added

Open the photo in the trip and choose remove. You can remove anything you added at any time, and the trip organiser can remove anything from their own trip.

Managing or cancelling Roadpack Pro

Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Open iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Roadpack. Refunds are handled by Apple, not by Roadpack.

Pro or a Trip Pass did not unlock

Open Roadpack Pro in the app and tap Restore purchases. A Trip Pass applies to a trip you organise, so open Roadpack Pro from that trip to use it. If it still is not right, email [email protected] with the date of the purchase; never send card details.
